A simple idea for a homemade Christmas present:
Dark chocolate thins or "palets fins de chocolate noir"
Delicate chocolate that melts on your tongue...
To start with, choose your favorite dark chocolate tablet, with at least 70% cocoa.
I like Green & Blacks and Lindt, but if you find Valrhona, this is even better...
Now prepare a "bain-marie": a small saucepan of simmering water with a glass bowl over it.
Break the chocolate into pieces and place it in the glass bowl- (Make sure there is absolutely no water going into the chocolate or it will ruin its final appearance...)- Let the chocolate melt.
In the meantime, roughly chop some whole almonds, or any nuts of your choice. These will be the toppings of your chocolates.
Topping ideas: Gold leaves, goji berries, pistachios, macadamias, rose petals, tea, pumpkin seeds, raisins, orange peel...
On a silicone baking sheet, or on some baking parchment, place a spoonful of melted chocolate, smooth with the back of the spoon, sprinkle some almonds on top and let the chocolate harden at room temperature.
Have fun with the shapes, I like to make long strips of chocolate that will look great in a transparent packet.
Place your chocolates in small gift boxes or bags.
Offer.
Or enjoy for yourself...
